In a second day of unrest over the Gaza War, police in Amsterdam ( AP ) reportedly staged violent confrontations with pro-Palestinian activists at a protest at the University of Amsterdam on Wednesday.
Hunderts of demonstrators gathered in a local square late at night to maintain protesting and urging the end of the war after police removed a blockade from the university grounds. Some demanded that the college end its academic ties with Israel.
It was not known how many activists were detained by police and how many people were hurt in the altercations.

Also, at Utrecht University, some 45 kilometers ( 30 miles ) to the south, students occupied a university building to protest Israeli actions in its war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Following similar activities in the U.S. institutions where numerous encampments have spread out, student protests have been taking shape all over Europe.
The conflict began when Palestinian militant groups attacked Israel’s southwestern region, killing 1,200 people in surprise attacks and holding roughly 250 hostages. Israel’s ‘ hostile military activity has killed more than 34, 700 Palestinians, according to local health authorities, and has devastated the Gaza Strip.
