Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said , Thursday on MSNBC’s” Morning Joe” that some supporters of former President Donald Trump cared more about revenue cuts than , the purity of the Constitution.
When asked about Trump’s rhetoric, Clinton said,” People ca n’t stop covering the circus, every utterance, every insult, every outrageous action or comment, it gets covered. The environment is usually missing. What does that actually mean? I think it’s imperative, especially for members of the press who understand, as you were really pointing out, the universe has been here before. American journalists were among the few who took the threat that the 1930s faced as significantly as they should. You know, people were taking at experience price that,’ Oh, this can be controlled. He may have said some absurd things, but the corporations will keep.’ A defined demagogue, however supported by part of his political party, another enablers, people who care more about a potential tax cut than the sanctity of the Constitution, are falling in line behind him. Some of the most ridiculous things you really recited are being made up by them. I do n’t think the press has done enough to basically say, okay, the circus is here. You can watch the carnival, but this show you what that means. Talk to those who are truly knowledgeable about the evolution of dictators. This look at the people that he admires and what they’ve already done”.
She continued,” Back in 2016, we did n’t have interviews with him. We did n’t have a track record of four years in office. You know, there was a lot of debate. I became aware that some people may not automatically accept what I said as gospel about what might occur. I get that. But today we know. We’ve seen him and we’ve heard him”.
Clinton added,” Maybe this would be our last election, because someone who will not accept the validity of an election is someone who does n’t believe in elections. He demands that he be elected regardless of whether he receives the votes or not because he believes in his own authority, his own proper to strength, and his desire.
