The White House’s ( NSC ) Coordinator for Intelligence and Defense Policy, Maher Bitar, was a radical pro-Palestine activist and a SJP leader.
The SJP is one of the most popular organizations involved in the pro- Hamas, racist “encampment” demonstrations that have taken over lots of university campuses. The organization’s parent group is also the subject of a lawsuit brought by September 7 terrorist attack patients, alleging SJP serves as Hamas ‘ advertising platform.
President Joe Biden is taking extraordinary steps to undermine Israel’s fight against the Hamas jihadists, including halting Israeli arms exports.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), whose daughter was suspended from Barnard College for her involvement in extreme demonstrations at near Columbia University, applauded Biden’s decision on Wednesday.
Daniel Greenfield wrote about Bitar’s qualifications in a 2021 article published by the Jewish News Syndicate:
At the PSM]Palestine Solidarity Movement ] conference in Georgetown]in 2006], Bitar had , run a , session , describing how to best demonize Israel. Next time, he facilitated a Arab Student Society mountain addressed by , Joseph Massad, who had called Israel a” Jewish racist state” and , praised , violence.
…
A few years after, Bitar , was be , found , presenting at a Sabeel event featuring some of the worst haters like , Rebecca Vilkomerson , of JVP, who had invited a criminal to handle the BDS love party, and Richard Falk, who had , endorsed , a book , which wondered whether” Hitler might have been correctly after all”.
…
Bitar went to work for UNRWA, interned at the misused and militantly pro- Israel Foundation for Middle East Harmony and studied at Oxford’s Refugee Studies Centre, writing documents on the thus- called” Nakba” and on” Palestinian” engagement. He appeared to identify Israel’s security barrier , as , a ,” separation wall”.
UNRWA has been implicated in the October 7 strikes, and Massad, who teaches at Columbia, praised the problems.
Columnist Caroline Glick wrote in , Israel Hayom at the time of Bitar’s interview:
Maher Bitar was appointed as the National Security Council’s senior director for brains this year, according to the White House. One of the most prominent positions in the US intelligence area is this one. The senior producer serves as the foundation for all agency knowledge. He decides what to share with the President. And in the name of the President, he determines objectives for intelligence operations and variety.
The top producer of intelligence even decides what information the US intelligence community will communicate with foreign intelligence agencies. He also determines how to connect to the knowledge that American intelligence agencies from abroad share.
…
A CIA official who is in charge of the vulnerable position typically has the same title as a detailed member of the National Security Council. Bitar, but, is not an intelligence expert. He is an against- Israel political advocate.
He pointed out that Bitar’s mentor thesis at Oxford University dealt with the so-called Palestinian” Nakba,” which is how Palestinians today refer to the movement of 700, 000 people as a result of an Arab state’s campaign to eliminate Israel at its foundation.
The Zionist Organization of America ( ZOA ), the oldest pro-Israel organization in the United States, also warned about Bitar’s appointment as the leader of the White House, whose foreign policy establishment is set to define the Biden administration’s foreign policy, at the time of his appointment.
Working for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA ) on the House Intelligence Committee, Bitar also played a significant role in the first President Donald Trump impeachment.  , Politico described Bitar as Schiff’s” major legal adviser”, and added:
During the Obama administration, he served as the director of the Israeli and Palestinian politics for the National Security Council, and he also served as Samantha Power’s assistant. At the State Department, he likewise held positions as an advisor for foreign affairs. From their time working together at the State Department, Bandr is close to Jake Sullivan, a top regional security official.
…
Bitar served as a freshman member of the House impeachment crew during Trump’s first impeachment, alongside Dan Goldman who worked as the prosecution owner’s best lawyer. Goldman described Bitar as a “brave lawyer” and claimed that the new NSC would gain from his time serving on the committee how the intelligence industry has changed over the past four years.
The senior director for intelligence coordinates covert action between the White House and the intelligence community by receiving sensitive information from the intelligence agencies, especially if it is in hard copy form. The server that houses the most sensitive classified information is also located there.
Senate confirmation is not necessary for Bitar’s current high-level intelligence position at the National Security Council.
