Poland’s prime minister Donald Tusk visited Belarus on Saturday, which is the country’s border with the authoritarian condition, and pledged to do more to improve security along its whole eastern border.
Tusk accused Belarus, Russia’s alliance, of intensifying what he called a “hybrid battle” against the West by encouraging workers to try to mix into the EU. He vowed that Poland may pay no attention to its border safety.
Tusk met with Polish army men, border shield officers, and police at the border, where he informed them that” I know there are more and more illegal crossings every day.” He even cited” the Russian-Ukraine war, Russian aggression against Ukraine, and the ambiguous political situation.”
The visit to the frontier, Tusk’s primary since he took office in December, comes after a Polish determine defected to Belarus this month. Although he claimed that Poland, a republic, would punish him, officials have called him a liar and he is the subject of an espionage investigation.
Over rule-of-law problems, Tusk replaced a regional conservative group that was at odds with the EU. When it first came to power in 2015, Law and Justice, that organization took a strong position against immigration.
Since therefore, though, the public feeling against movement across Europe has toughened. Tusk is opposed to illegal migration, just as he does not employ some of the severe anti-immigrant language of his predecessors.
” This is not only Poland’s inside border, but also the borders of the European Union. So, I have no fear that Europe will need to invest in both the protection of our borders and the security of Poland, which is what Tusk said.

He added that he had stated to the border force leaders that there were no restrictions on the tools available to Poland.
Tusk appeared to be trying to convince voters that his political party, Civic Coalition, favors border surveillance and supports the armed officers it. The visit comes days before the European Parliament elections in which case the Union will hold a meeting.
He said,” I came today mainly so that both commanders and their colleagues can be certain that the Polish government and the state are there with them at the border in every way.”
When a sizable number of migrants from the Middle East and Africa began arriving along the EU’s eastern border with Belarus in 2021, a turmoil struck. After imposing sanctions on Belarus after an election that was widely regarded as false, the EU accused Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko of encouraging the movement to destroy the EU.
A high steel wall was a response to the crisis by Poland’s previous administration.
