
In a  firing at a Saturday night party in southern Alabama, three people were killed and 12 people were hurt.
Gunfire erupted around 10 p. m.  , near Stockton, local CBS online WKRG reported. The city of about 550 people sits about 20 miles northwest of Mobile.
According to local Fox affiliate WALA, about 1, 000 persons had gathered for a group in the area. Most of the , victims and attendees were “younger people” , , Baldwin County investigator Andre Reid told the outlet. The survivors have not been formally identified.
One believe has been identified but no arrested, Reid told WALA. Copps think there was also at least one more sniper. WALA reported that during the event, several persons were shooting at each other, according to authorities.
Some of the wounded were taken to , North Baldwin Infirmary, seven miles north in the area of Bay Minette, WALA reported. While the patients were receiving treatment, real altercations broke out in the hospital.
There have now been , 153 mass killings in the U. S. in 2024, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which classifies any firing with four or more patients as a mass shooting.
The 152nd mass shooting occurred early Saturday night in Louisville, Ky., when , two people were killed and two people wounded at a club. In that case, neither a suspect nor a public figure has been detained.
