Some of President Joe Biden’s plan advisers are apparently pushing for aspects of a digital agreement to avoid protests over the government’s handling of the Israeli-Hamas conflict. They also appear to be concerned about the Democrat side’s voters.
Some of Biden’s closest advisers are looking to combine elements of a standard protocol with 2020’s iteration, which was almost a part of the coronavirus pandemic, to avert possible or even good protests, according to Politico Politics Bureau Chief Jonathan Martin on Friday:
As the summer draws to a close, President Joe Biden’s best advisers are all too aware that the ghosts of 1968 may be enveloping their convention. How far can they get in reviving their online 2020 convention, and how will they manage a rookie mayor who unapologetically sympathizes with protesters?
Some in Biden’s circle are aggressively pushing to make the 2024 conference a cross production, titling the success of their Covid-era agreement four years ago. That would include in-person remarks from the chairman, gathering luminaries, and rising stars, as well as a mix of recorded testimonials and videos from different regions of the country.
The goal is to minimize live development and open spaces for opposition in Chicago’s United Center while achieving maximum viewership on both the internet and television. This may mean removing celebration business like rules and platform votes from the floor and denying would-be demonstrators the ability to participate in contested debates.
According to Breitbart News, Martin’s statement comes as demonstrators enter crucial Trump campaign events like his showy$ 20 million fundraiser with previous Democrat Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
