The federal government owns the Texas border area, according to the Biden administration, which was used by Mexican drug cartels to conduct people and drug trafficking. The state of Texas just freed the island from Mexican drug cartels and cleared it of all underbrush.
Principal Engineer Ramon Macias wrote in a letter to the International Boundary and Water Commission ( IBWC ) of the Biden administration that” USIBWC asserts that Fronton Island is federal property and is governed by the IWBC.” The Texas General Land Office must replace the obstacles, with our sincere demand.
After Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham declared Fronton Island to be state-owned home, Macias made reference to two sand roads that the Texas National Guard constructed.
Fronton Island, known as the second most dangerous place on the southern borders, is cleared to guard thanks to the difficult work of @TxDPS &, @TXMilitary!

Commissioner Buckingham told Breitbart Texas,” The Biden Administration has had nearly four years to secure the southern borders, but they have chosen to disregard Texas people ‘ health.” This region of southern Texas has been plagued for too long by Fronton Island and the ongoing gang activities that, which demonstrated a clear and present danger to our societies, weapons, weapons, and the trafficking of people and drugs.
As state defense devices completed the opening of the 215-acre Fronton Island along the Rio Grande in Starr County, Breitbart Texas reported in November 2023, Mexican cartel lost a significant military benefits along the Texas border. The island, which was once covered in paint, has been a staging ground for people and drug trafficking for years.
Fronton Island has been a shelter for the Mexican Drug Cartels since the late 1990s, according to Texas DPS official Lieutenant Chris Olivarez, who spoke to Breitbart Texas at the time. It has still been primarily used to promote international legal action involving people and drug trafficking.
The State of Texas has taken control of the island by clearing and fortifying it, giving DPS and the National Guard operating power in preventing cross-border crime, according to Olivarez.
In a letter sent to the Texas General Land Office on April 30th, the USIBWC disputed Texas ‘ claim to the land. Macias wrote:
Between August 2023 and September 2023, our particular Survey Offices discussed possession of this area. We ca n’t confirm the State of Texas’s formal acquisition of Fronton Island in light of the Texas General Land Office’s documentation. The USIBWC assets ]sic ] that Fronton Island became federal property between 1970 and 1978 pursuant to the 1970 Treaty ( with Mexico ). We respectfully request that you give USIBWC written notice of any other ask if you have any evidence that establishes then within 30 times of the letter’s date.
When the gang’s ability to use this tactical substance and human trafficking staging area was safely ended, Macias went on to criticise the State of Texas of trespassing onto national land.
In answer, Commissioner Buckingham told Breitbart,” Texas has stepped up, and we have no intention of relinquishing our claim of ownership of Fronton Island. Under my way, Texas and the General Land Office may continue to do everything in their power to keep our families and communities safe as long as the people in that far-away U.S. Capitol continue to ignore those who sent them there.
