After colliding with pedestrians at a petrol station in India on Monday night, a massive banner caused 14 fatalities and 74 injuries.

A 100-foot-high banner was discovered on top of a gasoline station in Ghatkopar, a suburb of Mumbai, according to Mumbai city officers, according to Fox News. The banner reportedly collided during a significant storm with heavy rain and great weather storms, according to Fox News.

According to Reuters, over 100 people were first trapped by the fell banner. At least 47 people were rescued from the field of the poster collapse on Tuesday morning, according to city officials, and the recovery effort lasted all the way back to the rescue site.

” Health care is now being provided to 44 injured people, with 31 now discharged after receiving cure”, officials said in a speech obtained by Fox News. ” However, 14 persons succumbed to death in this mishap”.

The rescue operation was “very difficult due to the weight of the construction and the presence of explosive liquid and gas at the page,” according to Mohsen Shahedi, a top National Disaster Response Force agent.

The city’s municipal body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation ( BMC), claimed the entity that owned the billboard did not have a valid permit for it in a statement obtained by Reuters. The banner, which was roughly 14, 400 square foot, was about nine times larger than the maximum length that is permitted by the BMC.

In light of Monday’s fatal occurrence, the BMC said it was requiring the company to quickly remove the rest of its posters, which are also called signboards in India.

Maharashtra state’s deputy minister Eknath Shinde stated that instructions have been given to perform a fundamental audit of all hoardings in Mumbai and remove harmful ones right away to stop such accidents from occurring again.

A movie posted on X, previously Online, shows the moment the poster collapsed on Monday, unleashing carnage on the neighborhood.
