A federal grand jury in Tucson, Arizona, next year returned a 10- matter accusation against Ambrocio Ruiz Angulo, a member of Mexico. Ruiz is accused of conspiracy to bring goods out of the country, possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and ownership of a firearm by an improper alien.

A car trying to cross the border of the United States through the Mariposa port of entry in Nogales, Arizona, according to information in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. The vehicle was discovered to have several boxes of.50-caliber ammunition, which is commonly used for sniper rifles or machine guns. On January 20, CBP tweeted a picture of the natural weapons boxes that were seized, calling them “armor-piercing” and “incendiary rounds.”
The lady who was driving the car cooperated with the authorities by providing the vehicle’s driver with the phone number of the person who had hired her to deliver the bullets to Mexico and the location of the stockpile house where they had been kept. According to court records, investigators later established surveillance operations in the Arizona town of El Mirage after they eventually tracked Ruiz’s phone number.
A metal Hyundai driven by a U.S. resident named Jerry Cortes was stopped by El Mirage Police Department on April 11. The soldiers found a black bag with a stolen 9mm Smith and Wesson revolver, 30 grams of heroin,$ 6, 000 dollars and papers belonging to Ambrocio Ruiz Angulo, court documents show.
Cortes and his passenger, who later became Ruiz, were taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations agents. Cortes allegedly told agents that when they removed illegal immigrants from the border wall to a stash house, he “ran point” for Ruiz. According to records, Cortes claimed that the two were delivering cocaine as a payment to a “foot guide” or low-level migrant smuggler the day of the arrest.
In an interview with investigators, Ruiz allegedly admitted to being previously deported. According to a criminal complaint, Ruiz claimed to have told HSI agents that he was in charge of the home where the woman who was detained in January had loaded the.50-caliber ammunition. He allegedly claimed that Cortes and he would “run loads” of narcotics and migrants, and that the house would house additional goods intended for illegal export.
Before a July 9 trial, Ruiz has a June 21 deadline to make a plea. Cortes is accused of aiding and abetting on five drug counts.
The federal government’s motion of intent to destroy an undisclosed amount of the contraband that was seized in connection with the case was revealed in records in late April.
