The Biden administration’s threat of “farcies” was dismissed by China’s state-run Global Times on Wednesday, expressing particular contempt for the administration’s efforts to shield the country’s electric vehicle ( EV ) industry from Chinese competition.
The Global Times lectured:
This strategy contradicts President Biden’s determination of never “holding up China’s development” and never” seeking decoupling from China”. Additionally, it contradicts the crucial agreement reached by the two nations ‘ officials. It can even be interpreted as the US introducing a new round of price friction.
The US has regularly published negative information in an effort to tarnish China’s products and systems before announcing the implementation of additional taxes on China. This effectively serves as a sign of guilt by attempting to deceive the people into believing that they are politicizing and using economic and trade problems.
Although it took a while to complete the assessment, it turns out that the Biden administration was complaining about the risks of Chinese Vehicle dumping when “almost zero” cars are now being imported from China.  ,
The Chinese editorialists criticized Biden’s overall business plan as nothing more than a “political display aimed at winning voters in an election year” and warned that Beijing would take decisive action to protect its own interests.
Hu Xijin, a former Global Times editor, blasted Biden’s “panic and incompetence” in a video editorial blasting the company’s” tax hike” on Chinese EVs from 27.5 percent to 102.5 %.
Hu saw the taxes as a” pale flag raised by the U.S. as a sign of weakness.” S”. to declare that America has “given up” in the face of Taiwanese competitors.
” The U. S. is extremely ignorant, relying on higher taxes for security”, he said.
Hu vowed that even without access to British industry, China would make” the world’s largest supply chain and production capacity” for EVs, making a “mockery of America’s attempt to hit at China’s key business”.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce pledged to impose retaliatory tariffs on American goods if the Biden administration does n’t abandon its plans to impose tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles on Tuesday, backing up the Global Times ‘ threats.
Wang Wenbin, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, made hints on Tuesday that China may file a case with the WTO regarding the Trump taxes.
Wang remarked that” China may take all necessary steps to protect its reasonable rights and interests.”
Every Foreign official and media instrument that denounced the Trump price schedule took pains to deny the “overcapacity” warnings , that American authorities issued. None of them responded to the criticism that Chinese state subsidies have created a sizable surplus of manufacturing capacity that could only be used to flood international markets with cheap goods, by blatantly dismissing the claim as ironic.
Politico reported on Wednesday that Biden’s programs are being “very various reactions” from the politicians who previously criticised former president Donald Trump for imposing tariffs on Chinese imports. Politicitic attributed this to the “political consensus” in the US opposing free trade rather than blatant political bias.
The general opinion has changed so much that it now takes the phrase “protectionism” to suggest calling for a complete ban on Foreign energy vehicles, which was easily overtake a business that the American political group has pumped up with billions of dollars in grants over the past 20 years. Democrats also appear to be concerned about protecting the market for solar power in the United States and other clean energy issues.
Republicans are similarly concerned that China will squander those billions of dollars on sunk costs that go toward clean energy and electric vehicles. Sen. Marco Rubio ( R- FL ) described the Foreign auto business as an “extinction- stage threat” to both” British manufacturers and the staff they employ”.
Contrary to Chinese state media’s hollering about white flags of retreat and marches of weakness, both Republicans and Democrats whom Politico interviewed said they found Trump’s effective use of taxes against China to be illuminating, although, obviously, the Democrats claimed they trusted Trump to possess taxes more efficiently.
