Michael Cohen and Rosie O’Donnell have apparently struck an unlikely connection, with the actor messaging Cohen” I love you” as he appeared as a testimony in the legal case against his ex- manager, former , President Donald Trump.
O’Donnell texted Cohen , on Monday night before he took the stand in a , Manhattan court, writing,  , “breathe — rest — tell the truth — u got this — i enjoy u”, according to a record by , DNyuz.
An hour after,  , O’Donnell apparently texted Cohen,” Ur doing great”, to which the former Trump attorney replied,” Bless you and absolutely love you”.
” We talk and talk on a regular basis”, O’Donnell told DNyuz. ” I know this has been a turbulent time, but I check in. To be able to influence the entire nation in some way is a great factor.
O’Donnell, whose friends have apparently long described her as someone with a “rescuer complex”, explained that her , companionship with Cohen started in 2019, when she sent him a six- page text after he was sent to prison following pleading guilty , to , tax evasion and campaign finance violations.
” I got his inmate number and I sent him a letter”, O’Donnell said.
The actress and comedian also suggested that Cohen’s accent belonged to her because it made her think of the boys she knew when she was growing up in Long Island.
” He was every guy I went to high school with” , , she said.
O’Donnell reportedly wrote in her prison letter to the ex-Trump attorney that she was grateful to him because she thought it was heroic of him to turn on his boss despite her belief that he had helped Trump discredit her. Cohen was also informed that the comedian had forgave him.
O’Donnell added that despite her understanding that Cohen might not have been interested in getting her forgiveness and that she did n’t necessarily anticipate receiving it, he nonetheless reacted by requesting that she meet with him.
” He asked me to come visit him”, O’Donnell revealed.
What O’Donnell anticipated would be a conversation lasting no more than an hour turned into a six-hour discussion in which Cohen apologized to her, she said.
They even held hands at , one point during the prison visit, O’Donnell disclosed.
Cohen served the remainder of his sentence in his New York City apartment after being released from prison in May 2020.
In December, Cohen and O’Donnell had dinner together at a New York restaurant, she said.
” A home run. Day one done and u killed it” , , O’Donnell texted Cohen on Monday after his appearance in court, to which the former Trump attorney replied,” I ‘m , beyond tired”.
