McALLEN, Texas ( Border Report )— The federal government is offering a fresh give program to train teachers to help workers accomplish U. S. citizenship.
The Citizenship and Integration Training Academy is providing grants to organisations, towns, and school districts with off to$ 2.4 million in funding for instructor training from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
” Through this program, we may help develop organizations ‘ capacity to help immigrants improve their English language skills, improve their knowledge of U. S. history and government, and get the tools to become productive and concerned U. S. citizens”, USCIS Director Ur Jaddou said in a statement.
Applications for the Fiscal Time 2024 give began on Wednesday and near on July 12 according to the organization.

- School towns
- Provincial governments
- Nonprofits
- State institutions
- Public and status- controlled higher education institutions
- County institutions

- People housing authorities
The Citizenship and Integration Grant Program, which was launched in 2009 and has awarded more than$ 55 million in grants, is expanded by this new training academy, according to the organization.
According to the organization’s website, the goal of the Citizenship and Integration Grant Program is to increase access to high-quality membership planning services for lawful permanent residents across the country and to give immigrants opportunities to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to assimilate into American society.
Candidates for this new teaching academy must not have recently received money from the USCIS. The training plan is expected to cross a three- time period and include instruction in citizenship education, professional assistance, and naturalization application information.
