On Thursday, nearly a hundred Republican lawmakers made a trip to New York City to assist former president Donald Trump, who is facing charges of misleading business records brought by a Democrat district attorney during the course of the 2024 presidential vote.
The lawmakers included Reps. Andy Biggs ( AZ), Lauren Boebert ( CO ), Michael Cloud ( TX ), Eli Crane ( AZ), Matt Gaetz ( FL ), Bob Good (VA ), Diana Harshbarger ( TN), Anna Paulina Luna ( FL ), Ralph Norman (SC), Andy Ogles ( TN), and Mike Waltz ( FL ).

The few lawmakers who had been accompanying Trump to judge together made up the largest number to date. Earlier this year, Sens. Rick Scott ( FL ), Tommy Tuberville ( AL ), JD Vance ( OH), Rep. Byron Donalds ( FL ), House Speaker Mike Johnson ( LA ), Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, and Rep. Cory Mills ( FL ), North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, and Vivek Ramaswamy showed up to support Trump.
They have responded to reporters ‘ questions and served as his surrogate on the airwaves, which Trump cannot do.
Trump is under a tight gag order and unable to comment on witnesses, the prosecution staff other than District Attorney Alvin Bragg, another judge team, their families, jurors, and Judge Juan Merchan’s home — which includes a child who raises money for Democrats. Trump has been fined nine days by Cohen for violating the joke order, and he has been threatened with jail time for it.
But this week, as the defendant’s” star see” Michael Cohen— who has been attacking Trump in recent days— has taken the stand, Trump’s backers have torn into him, highlighting his embroidered past and his legal document.

The lawmakers took turns interjecting reporters outside the courtroom.
There is literally no branch of government that Michael Cohen has not lied to, according to Gaetz.

Crane said, after two hours in the courtroom, he heard Cohen admit six times that he lied.
