Rep. Rich McCormick ( R- GA ) has filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years after she and others have accused him of infidelity, according to a report.
The Daily Mail reported that McCormick, in first May, filed for divorce from his expert family, Dr. Debra Miller. A common restraining order was likewise filed.
McCormick and Miller, who is his second wife, had seven children and live in Suwanee Georgia.
According to those on Capitol Hill, McCormick has frequently been caught acting extremely pleasant toward a House Republican.
At the Republican Study Committee ( RSC ) lunches recently, one lawmaker claimed to have witnessed the Georgia lawmaker and an unknown lawmaker “holding hands under the table.” McCormick also witnessed him “grabbing the little of her back” during vote on the House floor.
Miller said that the Daily Mail should ask” Rich]McCormick ] and his colleague” if the reason for the divorce centered on an affair with the congressman and a colleague.
One of the numerous congressional office buildings on Capitol Hill, the Longworth House Office Building ( LHOB), was where another witness claimed that the female GOP lawmaker had been holding onto McCormick’s arm at night.
Dr. Miller and Congressman McCormick have been separated for a while, according to a McCormick spokesman in a speech. He has kept that secret and will continue to do so in the absence of the internet.
Last November, McCormick was the lead author of a censure resolution of Rep. Rashida Tlaib ( D- MI ) after she allegedly promoted “false narratives” about the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA ), who had introduced a similar censure resolution, had accused McCormick of being physically aggressive with her.
In a private meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA ), Greene claimed McCormick “grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her” and demanded that the Speaker address the matter.
McCormick denied Greene’s edition of the occasion. He substituted,” I understand why there would be a lot of natural emotions following the condemnation voting given that her condemnation was tabled and mine passed,” he said. By making a welcoming gesture, I wanted to enthral Rep. Greene.
” I said to her,’ At least we can have an fair conversation,’ to which she said she did not appreciate that. I apologized right away and have n’t spoken to her since then,” McCormick continued.
