ROME — Pope Francis told CBS outlet Norah O’Donnell that conservatives are deliberately blinded and develop a” suicidal approach” in their narrowmindedness.
The bishop claims in an interview scheduled for Sunday on 60 Minutes that a conventional is” one who clings to things and does not want to view beyond that.” It is a homicidal attitude”.
He goes on to say that” taking history into consideration and considering circumstances from the history is one thing, but closing up inside a dogmatic box is another.”
The Pope addresses his liberal backers in the temple.
One who adheres to something but does n’t want to go beyond that is a conservatism. It is a homicidal attitude”, says Pope Francis. This Sunday on 60 Minutes, the Pope sits down with @NorahODonnell. https ://t.co/mEN4CWeXMW photograph. twitter.com/HPYgVm4kIp

Pope Francis had never before sat down for an intensive meeting, one- on- one, with a U. S. television system during the course of his 11- season pontificate.
Pope Francis has previously hidden his hatred for Americans, and, in August 2023, he officially lamented the “backwardism” of traditionalist Catholics in the United States.
” The condition is not easy in the United States, where there is a pretty solid conservative attitude”, the pope told a group of Jesuits. ” It is organized and shapes the way people belong, also psychologically”.
The bishop said,” I would like to tell those people that’backwardism’ is worthless, and we need to know that there is an ideal development in the knowledge of matters of faith and values.”
” Our understanding of the human man changes with time, and our perception even deepens”, he stated. The Church is aided by the various sciences and their development in this understanding development.
” The perspective of Church theory as monolith is erroneous”, he added.
” The difficulties that idealists have to study nowadays are very serious, and, to deal with them, they have to take the risk of making modifications”, he asserted.
A” culture of closing” can be experienced in some instances in the United States, he continued, and, there, “you may reduce the true history and move to beliefs for support”.
” In other words, philosophy replaces trust, account of a business of the Church replaces account of the Church”, he said, in an apparent reference to traditional or conventional Catholics.
Those American groups “are isolating themselves”, he said. ” Instead of living by doctrine, by the true doctrine that always develops and bears fruit, they live by ideologies”.
In a second segment of his upcoming hour-long interview, Francis claims that climate change skeptics are” stupid” in response to compelling evidence of a climate emergency, CBS released another segment in late April.
” Some people are stupid ( necios ) …even if you show them research, they do n’t believe it”, the pontiff tells , O’Donnell when asked what he would say to the deniers of climate change.
” Why? Because they do n’t understand the situation or because of their interests, but climate change exists”, the 87- year- old pope asserts.
During the conversation, the pope is also asked what he thinks about those who describe the violence in Gaza as a “genocide”. Franciss frequently uses the phrase “genocide,” and he then mentions that he calls the Catholic parish in Gaza each evening at 7:00 PM, Rome time, for an update.
” There are about 600 people there, and they tell me what’s going on”, he says. ” It’s very hard, it’s very hard”.
” Food goes in, but they have to fight for it”, he says. ” It’s very hard”.
