The top Russian diplomat claims that Western nations are under the control of “gopniks,” which are slang for violent minor criminals, and fashionistas, and that NATO is the source of all European conflict, but skips to discuss Russia’s personal involvement in the conflict.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has a long list of grievances against the United States, from political stupidity, provocation, to rewriting history, and to causing nuclear brinkmanship. Russia is innocent of these acts, obviously, but America’s American allies are senseless “fashionistas” dancing to the feeling tunes coming from Washington, whatever it might be, the lawmaker railed.

Russia has frequently warned America of these foibles,  , Ryabkov said, and stated because those had been ignored it was now the scenario that:” they are playing with fire. They have much engaged in a surrogate conflict with the Russian Federation. If America continues as it has been, it would become more difficult to prevent a spiral disappointment in international relations leading to battle, according to Ryabkov, a career diplomat who began his services in the Communist era and survived the move into the Russian Federation.
While Ryabkov makes suggestions for why Americans might not be heeding Russia’s warnings, such as that its leaders have ingested external information and not, for example, have, it ultimately argues that Washington is too stupid and unsophisticated.
Turning around some of the most common criticisms levelled at Putin’s Russia, that it is led by corrupt mafia- gangsters,  , Ryabkov deployed the Russian nick- name for low- status antisocial petty criminals “gopniks” for the American leadership. America’s European allies do n’t escape this onslaught of insults, either, as they are castigated as being led by “fashionistas” who flock to the latest ideas without critical thought.
Ultimately,  , Ryabkov said, NATO is responsible for the Ukraine war and the diplomatic impasse because it has expanded eastwards towards Russia’s frontiers with new member states in a “manic advance”. This, he said, was in pursuit of a “phantom” of security. Without considering the fact that Russia is completely open about pushing its own borders east, and that it is even now fighting to establish what Putin himself refers to as a “buffer zone” in Ukraine in order to ensure security, these remarks were made.

Russia’s criticism of NATO and American involvement in its invasion of Ukraine can frequently lead to nuclear threats, and while they were implicit in Ryabkov’s remarks, they were less overt than they could be.  , NATO is “literally ready to balance on the brink of a direct armed conflict with us”, he said, and claimed Russia would mirror America’s nuclear posture, but not be the first to act.
In spite of these assertions, Russia caused a stir in the anti-proliferation movement by allowing its neighbor and proxy Belarus to have access to its nuclear weapons and promising more of the same to other countries that wanted to become Russian allies.
Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov made a less escalating comment about how the country would no longer be able to attend Russia’s annual Victory Day parade on May 9th, a day of celebration for the country’s victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. Western dignitaries and even U.S. presidents in the post-Cold War era have attended the parade, and troops from allies including America, the UK, France, and Poland have paraded alongside their Russian counterparts at the 2010 display.
This invitation was being renounced because, it was claimed, the U. S. was re- writing history to minimise Russia’s contribution to the war. The United States has not been invited to the parade in any way since Moscow reinvested Ukraine in 2022, and recent events have already completely sanddipped out of the spotlight on Britain and America.
