Apple is providing a settlement of up to$ 349 to Americans who had audio issues with their iPhones 7 or 7 Plus between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023.
According to CBS News, the software giant has set aside$ 35 million to pay back users who complained to Apple about covered sound issues or paid for repair costs related to the issue. The settlement comes as a result of a lawsuit filed by defendants Joseph Casillas and De’Jhontai Banks in 2019. They allege they could not hear calls on their iPhone 7s because they could n’t use the speaker function.

In response to the problem,” Applicant Casillas noticed that his camera’s tone was distorted with loud stable while attempting to play a movie on his phone. Plaintiff Banks noticed that she could n’t hear calls on her iPhone without using the speaker function. These are typical indicators of an acoustic Circuit defect.
The lawsuit claimed that the phone casing was damaged by the music device problem and that Apple was aware of the issue but frequently refused to pay for repair of the damaged devices. But, in the negotiation deal, Apple denied the existence of any music issues and maintained that it did nothing illegal or immoral.
How to hear if you’re qualified
- Clients who either paid for an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus sound maintenance or reported an audio problem to Apple without paying for a repair are available.
- You must have owned an phone 7 or 7 Plus between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023.
- Customers who paid for repairs can receive up to$ 349.
- Up to$ 125 is available to those who reported issues but did not pay for repairs.
- The starting deposit is$ 50.
