Elvis Presley’s daughter has filed a complaint against the funding company foreclosing on the band’s historic Graceland house in Memphis, Tennessee. She alleges scams, and she contends that the business has no legal claim to the home.
According to CNN, Danielle Riley Keough, an artist and Lisa Marie Presley’s child, is the current owner of Graceland and has received a restraining order from the court before the case is decided on her fraud allegations against Naussany Investments &, Personal Lending LLC, the business that filed the estate’s foreclosure.
The firm claims that Keough’s mother, Lisa Marie Presley, had borrowed$ 3.8 million from them and gave them a deed of faith against the loan. In January of that year, Lisa Marie passed away.
However, Keough’s attorney contends that the records presented by Naussany Investments are untrue.
” These records are fraudulent”, Keough alleges in her complaint. Lisa Marie Presley always gave Naussany Investments a deed of trust.
The performer’s lawsuit also claims that the lawyer who appears on the report “never met Lisa Marie Presley nor notarized any file for her.”
Additionally, Keough’s lawsuit asserts that Naussany Investments “appears to be a false object created for the purpose of defrauding.”
According to CNN, all attempts to reach Naussany Investments for a post were unsuccessful, and even the telephone number for the business is no longer active.
Naussany Investments made an effort to acquire Graceland and announced that it would sell the property on May 23. Keough, while was able to find an injunction to stop that behavior.
The Presley estate’s management firm, Elvis Presley Enterprises, which organizes activities and tours of the site, also declared the papers from Naussany Investments to be forged.
” Elvis Presley Enterprises does confirm that these statements are fraudulent”, Elvis Presley Enterprises said in a statement. There is n’t a foreclosure sale, they say. Simply put, the counter lawsuit was filed to prevent the scams.
Keough’s following hearing is set for Wednesday in Shelby County, Tennessee.
Graceland is subsequent- most visited house in America, second only to the White House, and according to court information, Lisa Marie earned millions yearly from her interest in the home. The house is worth around$ 500 million, according to Elvis Presley Enterprises.
