NEW DELHI: The 73-year-old grandfather Geoffrey Kitchen has been named as the American passenger who died after enduring a serious turbulence on a trip to Singapore.
Geoffrey Kitchen, a resigned healthcare professional and amateur dramatics comedian, had flown to Singapore on Monday on the 10pm journey from Heathrow.
According to companions who spoke with the Guardian, he and his family, Linda, were planning to stop over in Singapore en route to Australia, where they intended to love a six- week vacation.
Actually from Bristol, Kitchen had spent most of his career in Thornbury, Gloucestershire, moving into his existing semi- detached house in 2012. He leaves behind a child who lives in Wales and a boy who runs a window cleaning company.
Emily Dimond, a near friend and neighbor, said,” He was a properly- loved man. He was brilliant, humorous, a fantastic performer, greatly caring about theatre. It was his interest”.
The two couples frequently went for walks in the neighborhood after visiting the Dimonds ‘ home last week.
Kitchen retired from performing in a Dick Whittington play next Christmas, starting the Thornbury Musical Theatre Group. This time, the theater company will release two performances.
He had just pushed for the reopening of Armstrong Hall, a location that was formerly used for theater productions.
Kitchen wrote in an open letter from last year that” the lack of this service means that our society is much poorer, and the creative forces that have longer existed are in danger of receding.” Although this is essential, it is not too late to revive the advanced.
Another cousin in Kitchen’s sac- de- chamber expressed sorrow over his dying. ” I knew him as a cousin, his brother cleans my panels. It’s pretty shocking”.
