Rep. Nancy Pelosi made the error of participating in a discussion on democracy last week at Oxford Union. Without scripted talking positions and a pleasant press corps, Pelosi was most likely to reveal her true thoughts to the world. She did n’t disappoint.
About half through the , conversation, Pelosi uttered the following:
We’ve seen demagogues come down the pike]and ] destroy the press. What do Democrats claim exactly? Fake media. But, they’re diminishing]the hit ] in the eyes of these poor souls who are looking for some answers. We’ve given them ]answers], but they’re blocked by some of their views on guns. They have the three Gs, weapons, lesbians, God. And the social problems cloud some of their greeting, reception]to] an discussion that really is in their interest.
Perhaps realizing how damaging those remarks were, Pelosi claimed,” We do n’t accuse people of not knowing what they’re doing. They are aware of their individual goals. We honor that”. But if you state that certain people hold views that block them from seeing what is in their best interest, then you , are  , saying that they do n’t know what they are doing. And not in accordance with Pelosi’s custom of using the” three Ga”
In his book The Vision of the Anointed, renowned economist Thomas Sowell in depth examined the approach displayed by figures like Pelosi. Some in politics, education, and the media “believe that third events can make better decisions than people can make for themselves,” according to that vision. The Anointed exist on a higher spiritual planes, exemplified by, among other things, their compassion for the poor, help of the downtrodden, and concern for the environment. Those who do not discuss the vision are not just bad, but they are mean- passionate, and” the’ true reasons’ behind their arguments and actions may be exposed”. If they continue to show obstinate, then they must get “nullified and superseded by the opinions of the anointed, imposed via the power of state”, Sowell wrote.
A populist like Donald Trump does n’t just have divergent opinions about what works best for society. He is, Pelosi claimed, a” serpent- petrol salesman” who sells the resilient” a expenses of products”. His real aim was to pass” a tax bill that]gave ] 83 percent of the benefits to the top 1 percent” . , That benefited his “big, dark, rich, billionaire donors who do n’t want to pay taxes”.
More of Pelosi’s Charges
Pelosi even accused demagogues of violence. They want to control” the vote in our nation”, “take away … wellness care”, and let the fossil fuel industry” drown the airlines”, she said.
Pelosi has never held this position before. She said,” You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, but I do n’t know if you have heard that it’s legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America… but we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it. Away from the cloud of the controversy”.
Pelosi was, in consequence, saying:” The arguments against Obamacare are just a distraction. You may rely on us to do what’s best for you because we are more moral and smart than Obamacare for those who oppose it.
Biden Administration while Anointed
Most officials, whatever their ribbon, possess the Vision of the Anointed to some degree. Some people, however, have more than another. The Biden administration has shown no qualms about substituting its assessment for those of normal Americans, from student loans to health insurance subsidies to enormous paying bills. The issue is that those who are appointed, such as Biden and Pelosi, do not incur the immediate consequences of their actions. Typically, those decisions are made by those who are making them.
Perhaps the most severe instance of that is Biden’s Green New Deal. In Biden’s natural plan, fresh fuel cutting on federal land was one of the goals. Citizens have footed the bill for the higher gas prices and heater costs needed to keep the White House beautiful in the winter and the political car moving. These same taxpayers will have to cover their personal expenses for higher gasoline prices and heating bills.
Parents are best suited to make their own decisions. They are held accountable for errors, which gives them a far greater incentive to make wise choices than the Anointed. It is crucial to keep in mind that some politicians have no regard for that in November.
