Sources tell NBC News that 19 of the families of the victims and injured in the 2022 shooting at Robb Elementary School are announcing a new complaint against 92 unique Texas Department of Public Safety soldiers.  ,
The people will receive the news from Uvalde, led by Connecticut-based lawyer Josh Koskoff, who is renowned for defending victims of mass killings in high-profile civil lawsuits. He settled for a$ 73 million settlement with Remington on behalf of Sandy Hook victims in 2022.  ,
Additionally, the families are anticipated to make an announcement regarding a$ 4 million settlement with Uvalde County and the City of Uvalde.
The news comes two weeks before the two-year level of the most deadly school shooting in Texas past. An 18-year-old killed 19 children and two teachers with a semiautomatic rifle, causing a national outcry over the subpar police response and lack of transparency that victims ‘ families are still fighting today.
91 of the roughly 400 law enforcement personnel who responded to Robb Elementary on May 24, 2022, worked for DPS. All of them who responded are anticipated to be subject to legal action as a result of this complaint. DPS conducted an investigation into the incident and fired Sgt. Juan Maldonado, who was one of the earliest to arrive on the scene. Ranger Christopher Ryan Kindell was finally fired, and his suspension was pending an appeal. One another, Trooper Crimson Elizondo, resigned, and the remainder were exonerated.
A press conference will be held at noon at the Uvalde Civic Center for the individuals. We have a staff on the field. Following @RyanChandlerTV for the most recent updates and check again for updates.
