MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said Wednesday on her show” Deadline” that” shrinks and cult experts” needed to explain former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley ( R ) endorsing former President , Donald Trump.
Limited text as follows:
NBC REPORTER VAUGHN HILLYARD: Nikki Haley, in 2015, said,’ Donald Trump is anything I taught my kids not to do in school. I told my little people, you do n’t rest and make things up.’ She ended up serving in his leadership.
WALLACE: Who are these folks? !
HILLYARD: On, January 6, she called it” an unpleasant day”. She then went on to declare that she would n’t run for president a few months later. She ended up running for president. And then we saw Nikki Haley mocked by Donald Trump for being absent while her husband was serving in Africa with the U.S. armed forces. And Nikki Haley’s thoughts about Donald Trump were the ones that were very obvious. ]She ] said in part that,’ They were disgusting, terrible and crazed,” and said that” something that makes responses like that does n’t need to be commander- in- key. Her own father responded on social media by saying,” The difference between humans and animals would not allow the stupidest people to lead the pack.”
His supporters spread adulterous stories about her. Someone has suggested that because her parents are refugees, she might not even be eligible to run for president. And her announcement that she will support Donald Trump is just another book in a series that we’ve now lived out with Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz eight years ago, in my opinion. In that Republican conversation, she raised her hand and declared that she would support a criminal who had already been sentenced to death. And now, as proof that she’s sticking to her expression.
WALLACE: We need shrinks and cult experts to explain this because what you’re reporting does n’t make a lick of sense to me, and it’s so recent. I mean, J. D. Vance, in 2015, said anything similar. However, it is unbelievable to me at a human level that she and her husband had been having a heated argument with him both days and weeks prior.
HILLYARD: I think it’s energy. And I believe there is a potential in American elections if you have access to power and a group you belong to. And I believe there are many people who have consistently demonstrated that staying close to Donald Trump will keep you important in politics.
WALLACE: It’s amazing. Amazing.
