Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC ) accused Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY ) of engaging in electoral politics by resurrecting a border bill that was a failure and was unavoidable once more.
Chuck Schumer is essentially trying to keep Democrats in the Senate, Scott said in an exclusive interview on Wednesday nights.
Schumer ‘s , immigration bill , was negotiated earlier in 2024 by Sens. As part of a wider agreement to unlock tens of billions of dollars in foreign aid, Chris Murphy (D-CT), Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), and James Lankford (R-OK ) are included. After discovering the impact of the border component, it became clear that the pro-migration legislation would boost clean cards, work permits, and tie the hands of a new administration to stop a migration spike, among other issues.
The deal’s fatal information led Scott to memorably , consider he was a” Hades no” on the act.
On Thursday, Schumer will return the stand-alone borders costs to the Senate surface. Joe Biden, the president, has backed the policy, urging politicians to support it and encourage more immigration to the nation.
The costs may crash. Scott pointed out that the Schumer-led Senate’s expressive vote, which some experts believe is designed to provide endangered Sens, is flawed. John Tester ( D- MT ), Sherrod Brown ( D- OH), and Bob Casey ( D- PA ) cover — is not a serious attempt to address a critical threat facing Americans.

According to Scott,” They may have done something about this a long time ago, but they chose not to,” accusing Democrats of politicizing border control and immigration and escalating the issue.
” Honestly, I think — move out — it’s bigger than just that. In the first 100 weeks, Joe Biden made more than 90 choices that destroyed border security. And, then, because of election issues, they’re engaged in not even solving the problem but righteousness signaling”.
Liberals are ignoring a real risk that Americans genuinely rate among their top concerns, he said, by politicizing the problem.
” ]Democrats ] are n’t worried about the 70, 000 Americans who’ve lost their lives to fentanyl”, Scott said. ” They’re never worried about sleeping cells in our nation. They are not yet concerned about the 6, 000 percentage increase in Chinese crossings of our southern border. No, they are not concerned about November 5’s leads. Additionally, virtue-signaling does not resolve problems. It’s annoying to me”.

Scott said Biden could take action now to undo the harm he has caused by veering between declaring he does not have power over the border and threatening punitive action.
” Here’s what we know: President Trump built about 570 miles of the border wall. President Trump did that”, he said. President Biden could have used the building material to create natural barriers between dangerous people and the American people, rather than selling it for more boundary wall. He may revoke the 90 — I believe it was 93 — but 90 plus executive purchases if they were serious about the big issue of border security, or he could at least go back to the Live in Mexico plan. He might at least consider President Trump’s achievements with his prison program. He had at least discuss and finance more Border Patrol agents and provide them with overtime and incentive pay.
Instead of performing any of those layups, he had simply prefer to speak up and say to the American citizens, as Kamala Harris did,” The boundary is safe, and think what you say instead of what you see.” “

After suspending his personal campaign for president, Scott endorsed Trump in January. Since then, he has been one of Trump’s most effective and popular caregivers, urging Americans to join behind Trump and traveling the country speaking on Trump’s representative.
Unfortunately, the South Carolinian believes Trump’s returning to the White House may become necessary to solve the border crisis. He laid out steps Democrats had started taking soon after Trump’s opening.
The first step in the direction of border security was Donald Trump’s, he said,” We were better off under him.” But Donald Trump’s four more years and his ability to rescind the professional orders, in his opinion, will be the difference. The second thing we would do is define Remain in Mexico policy, codify immigration laws that prohibit people from entering our country and waited ten years, etc.
A key component of Republicans ‘ plan may be giving law enforcement the authority to deport illegal aliens, according to Scott.
The ten million new arrivals, the largest in American history, would be taken out of the country as they interacted with law enforcement,” I think you would see action on a deportation strategy.” As President Trump has stated, the deportation technique we would want as well as the major and crucial tool that local law enforcement has.  , I think there’s a few steps that we can consider.”

According to Scott, a nation that is serious about resolving the immigration issue and not just using it as a social hammer, must prioritize building a wall along the southern borders, which is the issue Trump used to win the Republican nomination in 2016.
This finish the walls, find the resources from the Inflation Reduction Act, which is probably the most offensive way to use the word “reduction” in my life, and put the money on the frontier.
” Why never really get serious about America’s national surveillance problems, starting at our southwestern border? ” Scott concluded.
