The UK government has announced that it will continue to accept graduate visas, which allow international students to work or look for work for two years after graduating ( or for three for those who are PhD ). Otherwise, the home business will concentrate on regulating agents who recruit foreign students and establishing stricter compliance requirements for institutions hiring them.
The Migration Advisory Committee ( MAC ), which published last week, said the graduate route should not be eliminated, and it made a statement on Thursday that it would accept the findings.
Rogue agents attracting foreign students will” shat” their business model, and universities that do n’t adhere to stricter compliance regulations could lose their sponsor license, according to the statement.
That includes institutions that accept foreign students who refuse to register in or finish their studies, pass card checks, or enroll in or complete their studies.
Financial servicing obligations will be increased, and English vocabulary tests are being reexamined. Additionally, limitations are being placed on the ability to deliver training remotely. After research revealed a large number of people ended up on low incomes, the road will “remain under review” due to concerns that “it is not attracting the highest workers.”
A representative for the home office told Soon,” Govt has accepted all the MAC’s recommendations and introduced more measures to stop fraudulent activities, maintain simply legitimate students enter the immigration system, and keep universities accountable for their enrollment process.”
In the year ending March 2024, 116, 455 Indians were granted student permits.
Sanam Arora, the UK government’s chairperson, praised the nation’s American students and alumni union, saying:” We are delighted and relieved that the government made the right choice. This is important for American students. We’re delighted to see that regulating agencies will be the main topic of the conversation instead.
