Two of the four U.S. Army vessels that are supporting the “floating wharf” in Gaza beached themselves on the Jewish coast on Saturday and ran ashore.

    U. S. men were forced to come ashore on the shore near Ashdod, in Israel, in an effort to open the warships, which had faced poor weather and great lakes.

Four of the US military’s vessels, which support a momentary pier built to transport supplies to Gaza by water, reportedly ran aground in heavy seas, according to the US military. The&nbsp, Navy Times reported:

According to U.S. Central Command, four U.S. Army vessels supporting the sea humanitarian assistance mission in Gaza on Saturday broke free from their moorings as a result of heavy sea states.

The third and fourth warships are beached on the Jewish coast near Ashkelon, a coastal town about eight miles northwest of the Gaza Strip, while the other two are anchored on the beach close to the floating wharf off the Gaza beach.

No accidents have been reported and the U. S. built wharf remains fully practical, CENTCOM said, adding that no U. S. staff may provide Gaza.

Online videos of the attempts to open the vessels were widely distributed:

Day 2 of the US military landing craft LCM 8558 and a tug, which are frequently referred to as being part of the floating pier but are actually a type of vessel used to move the pier, are on the seaside of Ashdod. Due to heavy shipwreck, the tug broke completely as Ashdod’s floating jetty was being taken… twitter.com/NHwWBUCu16

In his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden vowed that there would be no “boots on the ground” to assist the wharf.
