At least 31 people were shot, five of them fatally, Friday through Sunday during Memorial Day weekend in Mayor Brandon Johnson’s ( D) Chicago.

Ten people were shot in Chicago during the first day of the holiday weekends, according to Breitbart News. Ten of the killing victims perished from their injuries.

NBC Chicago reported&nbsp, a second fatal shooting occurred around” 1 a. m. Sunday in the 1400 wall of South Harding”. When somebody opened flames on him, a 39-year-old man was standing on a road. He was taken to a clinic, where he died.

About two hours later, one opened fireplace on a group of people who were “in the 1300 block of South Christiana” standing on the road. A 28-year-old was tragically shot in the back after being mortally wounded.

A five-year-old woman was shot and killed in the back seat of a vehicle parked “in the 200 block of South Campbell Avenue” at about 3:30 a.m. The attacker, it appears, was aiming for people who were nearby, not the lady.

In Chicago, as in all of Illinois, residents must get a Firearm Owners Identification ( FOID ) card in order to legally own a gun. The Illinois State Police conducts an in-depth history check before issuing the card.

Various regulations in consequence in Chicago include the provincial “assault weapons” and “high power” magazine ban, a 72- hour waiting period on gun purchases, a crimson flag law, and more. Also, Cook County, where Chicago is located, has its own “assault arms” ban.

Despite all the Liberals ‘ gun power, over 180 people have been killed in Chicago since January 1, 2024.
