IDAHO FALLS, Idaho. According to authorities, agricultural employees from Mexico were the only ones who died when a pick collided with a passenger vehicle in Idaho on Saturday.
The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a news release that the vehicle passengers were all agrarian staff from Mexico who were in the country on H- 2A Temporary Agricultural Worker visa on Thursday, according to East Idaho News.
The , accident happened earlier on May 18 , when a delivery crossed the midline on U. S. Highway 20 and hit the vehicle in Idaho Falls, according to Idaho State Police. Five of the vehicle’s drivers and passengers passed away at the scene.
Bonneville County Coroner Rick Taylor identified the patients as Abel MejÃa MartÃnez, 43, Pedro Manuel Alcantar MejÃa, 26, Brandon Ponce Gallegos, 24, Jose Guadalupe Sánchez Medina, 20, Luis Enrique Sereno Perez, 32, and Javier Gomez Alcantar, 36.
Nine other travellers in the vehicle and the vehicle’s drivers were hospitalized, police said.
Signet, the firm that employed the staff, is collecting donations on GoFundMe and donated$ 10, 000.
The administrators wrote that” we are deeply grieving the loss of six precious members of our team who tragically lost their lives in a tragic car crash on May 18 in Idaho,” and that “our hearts are heavy with pain.” Nine of our colleagues were left with wounds and their lives were permanently changed by the occurrences of this day, according to the statement from the statement.
