A new bill that would prohibit institutions from informing families if their children switch women is being considered by the state government.
The new costs, AB 1955, is backed by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, who was booted , for disorderly conduct from a school board meeting last year in Chino Valley, California, where the board approved a legislation requiring colleges to inform parents if children wanted to change women, overriding Gov. Gavin Newsom’s plan for the State of California as a whole. `
The position sued the city over the state’s plan requiring, which was then blocked by U. S. Judge Roger Benitez, an appointment of President George W. Bush. Afterwards, Newsom launched a burning attack on Benitez over gun control.
Democrats in California are now attempting to define Newsom’s plan into law. The important word of AB 1955 reads:
This act would ban school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and the state specific schools, and a member of the governing board or body of those education entities, from enacting or enforcing any policy, rule, or operational regulation that requires an employee or a contractor to share any information related to a pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or sex expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent unless often required by law, as provided. Employees or contractors of those educational institutions would be prohibited from making such a disclosure unless otherwise provided by law requires otherwise. The bill would prohibit employees or contractors of school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, or the state special schools, or members of the governing boards or bodies of those educational entities, from retaliating or taking adverse action against an employee on the basis that the employee supported a pupil in the exercise of specified rights, work activities, or providing certain instruction, as provided.
According to Thurmond, the bill would stop transgender students from being forced to “out” them, and it should be discussed between a student and a parent, not be done by a school administration.
Newsom has also defended the policy at his school as an attempt to stop “outing” students, who he claims would be bullied if their new gender identity were made known to peers.
Newsom was asked by Breitbart News to defend his policy last year, but he was unable to explain why parents should not be notified:
