ROME, Italy — Pope Francis appointed three bishops, known for their support for sexuality, to the Vatican’s philosophical business Saturday, just as Gay groups were kicking off gay pride quarter.
The three men, two of whom are cardinals, have all been on the front lines in the effort to rest the Church’s spiritual training on the sin of queer acts, according to Edward Pentin, a senior Vatican columnist and author of The Next Pope.

Portuguese Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, who adopted a” Who am I to assess”? past sister Maria Teresa Forcades i Vila, infamous for her campaign of “queer theology,” has been a common advocate for her in his rural work with gays in Lisbon. In order to release a book of his, Cardinal Tolentino invited her to talk at the start of one of his books in 2016.
The next appointment was made by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, who apparently transformed Albano into” the European capital of the Catholic-gay motion,” which every hosts the Forum of Italian LGBT Christians, a movement that seeks to persuade the Church to totally embrace the queer lifestyle. Additionally, Meraro contributed the preface to a book by Father Aristide Fumagalli ( dubbed” the Italian translation of Fr. James Martin” ), which bore the title Possible Love — Homosexual Persons and Christian Morality.

Archbishop Bruno Forte of the Roman province of Chieti- Vasto, the writer of passages on sexuality in the contentious time document of the first Synod on the Family in 2014 that attempted to make homosexual relationships accessible in the Church, was the pope’s second choice. Forte sparked a stir in 2023 by inviting people to pray for those attending Gay Pride events in June.
Curiously, the Vatican made these three new appointments on Saturday, just days after Pope Francis rehashed the Church’s prohibition on allowing homosexuals to attend seminaries and told Italian bishops there is already too much “faggotry” in the Church.
The bishops should “get all the fairies]checche ] out of seminary, even those who are only semi- oriented”, the pope added.
