
Dr. Helen Mary Roberts, a member of the Pakistan Army Medical Corps, became the first person from a Christian and a majority to hold the rank of brigadier in the country with a Muslim majority. The Selection Board reportedly promoted Brigadier Helen to total generals and brigadiers by the Pakistani Army on Sunday, according to The News.
Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, praised Helen for her advancement as a Brigadier, claiming that the entire nation was glad of her and that thousands of talented women from minority communities who are distinguished in their service to the country.
He said,” I myself and the country congratulate Brig Helen Mary Roberts on receiving the honor of the first female from a minority to be promoted to the Pakistan Army.”
Brigadier Dr. Helen has spent the past 26 decades working in the Pakistan Army.
Chief General of the Pakistan Army Asim Munir praised the contribution that the majority group made to the development of the nation during a Christmas celebration at Christ Church in Rawalpindi next year.
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics in 2021, there are 96.47 per share Muslims in the country, followed by 2.14 per cent Hindus, 1.27 per cent Christians, 0.09 per cent Ahmadi Muslims and 0.02 per share people.
