People of Ridgely, Maryland, are demanding solutions to the immediate expulsion of the entire police force, about six soldiers, without reason on March 13.

The suspension was announced in a cryptic statement by the Maryland Police Department, which read,” The Commissioners of Ridgley ( the’ Commissioners ‘ ) suspended with pay the entirety of the Ridgely Police Department ( the’ Department’), effectively immediately, pending investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Prosecutor”.

Despite questioning, no additional information regarding the suspension, research, or reason was instantly shared with the nearly 1, 600 people.

Residents are concerned about the lack of accountability, according to Fox News interviews, despite the claim that the statement further states that city officials and the sheriff’s and state troopers are working together to provide continued emergency services. &nbsp,

” What’s very concerning is that they did n’t communicate with us in an honest and open way”, Laura Cline, a longtime Ridgely resident, said. ” Address us with admiration. We’re people — thinking, logical people who deserve the truth”.

” We were blindsided”, Holly Justice, a salon operator in Ridgely, added. It raises questions about the morality of those who are supposed to protect and function.

Caroline County Sheriff Donald Baker pledged to continue providing protection to Ridgely residents, according to WBOC, despite not receiving any clarity regarding the suspension.

” I want to convince Ridgely’s people, and the entire area of Caroline County, that their health is our best problem”, Baker continued. ” We are aware of how crucial it is to maintain the smooth operation of public health providers. We’re committed to working strongly with the Maryland State Police to ensure Ridgely receives the protection it requires.

Although Ridgely has previously experienced little violence, this is not the first instance of a potential scandal the police department has experienced. In 2018, the official- related restraint dying of 19- year- ancient Anton Black made stories. The off-duty then-chief had assisted in the imprisonment, so Black’s home won in a wrongful death lawsuit against Ridgely and two nearby cities.

Maryland passed new rules governing police transparency in 2021 following Black’s demise, which sparked some rumors regarding the potential cause of the immediate investigation. WBOC reported that an unnamed source explained that the police force’s improper disposal of profit products, including arms, as well as insufficient background investigations on new soldiers, are to blame.
