Claudia Sheinbaum, the candidate for Mexico’s ruling leftist National Regeneration Movement ( Morena ) party, was overwhelmingly elected as the next President of Mexico in Sunday’s general election.
Sheinbaum, a 61- year- ancient politician, scientist, and intellectual, will become Mexico’s primary woman president after she succeeds her mentor, outgoing significantly- left President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, at the start of her six- year term on October 1.
The newly elected president-elect, who held the position of Mexico City’s head of government between 2018 and 2023, has vowed to carry on the communist policies of the incoming president, who was established in 2018.
In the Sunday common poll, over 45 million Mexican cast ballots to elect a new leader and members of Congress. In addition to winning the presidency, the ruling Morena party and its supporters are on track to win an overwhelming majority in Congress, which would enable them to change the Mexican Constitution, according to preliminary results released by the Mexican National Electoral Institute ( INE).  ,  ,
Sunday’s political event has been , described as the most harsh in Mexico’s political history. Two people were killed in two shootings at voting centres in Puebla, northern Mexico, according to local authorities. In the state of Tlapanalá, a girl died in a fight between military men allegedly attempting to steal ballots, and a man died in Coyomeapan from a gunshot wound outside a secondary school.
A total of 26 individuals were killed throughout the whole political process that culminated with Sunday’s votes, according to the Mexican government. The official figure is different from Integralia’s report that claimed at least 34 individuals had been murdered before Sunday’s vote. Integralia raised the count to 231 murders when investing in authorities or former authorities, politicians or original politicians, community members, and security victims.
With 82 percent of the vote tallied by INE at press time, Sheinbaum– who represented the leftist alliance between Morena, the Labor Party ( PT ), and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico ( PVEM) – obtained 28.8 million votes, an overwhelming 58.8 percent of all votes cast.  ,
Her closest rival, key opposition candidate Xochitl Galvez, obtained 13.8 million vote, which amounted to 28.1 percentage. Galvez ran for the National Action Party ( PAN), the Institutional Revolutionary Party ( PRI), and the Party of the Democratic Revolution ( PRD ) as the traditional parties in Mexico. The PRI ran Mexico for 71 years – from 1929 to 2000– frequently crushing the PAN and PRD.
With 5.1 million vote, which is equivalent to 10.5 percent of the total votes cast, Jorge Lopez of the center-left Citizens ‘ Movement party came in third place. Voter turnout was tallied at 60.13 percentage.
Morena and its supporters are expected to win somewhere between 346 and 380 of the 500 votes in the Chamber of Deputies, despite the lack of official results at the media period. In the Senate, Morena and its supporters are projected to attain between 76 to 88 of the Senate’s 128 tickets.
Major amendments to Mexican legislation, including possible constitutional changes, must be passed with the support of a qualified majority of at least 334 users of the Chamber of Deputies and 85 members of the Senate. The ruling Morena party has  , expressed its intention to” shield” López Obrador’s leftist reforms by codifying them into the constitution through a reform.  ,
Soon after the INE released its first preliminary findings, Sheinbaum addressed her followers on Sunday night. She stated in her message that this will be the first time a person will lead the Mexican government and that she would continue to support the “fourth transformation,” a term used to describe the communist initiatives López Obrador promoted during his six times as president.
” As I have said on different occasions, I am not alone. We are all around, with our characters who gave us our land, with our predecessors, our mothers, our sons and our grandchildren”, Sheinbaum said.
” I want to congratulate the millions of Mexicans who voted for us on this historic day. I’m even appreciative that I will be the first woman to lead Mexico for the first time in 200 years of the Republic,” she continued.
The debate’s effects, according to the Mexican president-elect, are the result of the “recognition of the people of Mexico to our story, to the outcomes, to the faith and will, but it is also the reputation of the people of Mexico to our task of society.”
” We demonstrated that Mexico is a political state”, she asserted.
López Obrador, the incoming president of Mexico, made the announcement at a press conference on Monday night that he had spoken with Sheinbaum following Sunday’s benefits.
López Obrador praised Sheinbaum as a very clever woman, “both for her responsiveness and her intellectual degrees,” and praised Sunday’s election for having come to an end with the success of the most popular girl in Mexican history.
After 200 years of Mexico being governed only by men,” I congratulated her, I am very happy,” the outgoing president said.” Imagine what it means to hand over the presidency to a woman.
The incoming president stated that he would like to meet with her as soon as possible and that there might be a possibility that they could meet again soon.
We will be speaking a lot and we are going to be together. She is very knowledgeable and also, as I said, she is very intelligent”, López Obrador said. ” She knows very well, for example, because she has been traveling all over the country, she made an intense campaign, she visited many towns, she was in the public squares and she was picking up the feelings of the people”.
Xóchitl Gálvez, who came in second place, announced on Sunday that she had called Sheinbaum to acknowledge her defeat.

Gálvez addressed her supporters, assuring them that she would continue to be an activist and that I saw a Mexico with a lot of suffering and violence and that I wished she could solve our country’s pressing problems.
Sheinbaum has received congratulations from several leaders of leftist governments and authoritarian regimes in Latin America, such as Venezuela’s socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro, the Cuban communist Castro regime’s figurehead President Miguel DÃaz- Canel, and Colombia’s far- left President Gustavo Petro.
Late on Sunday evening, Bolivia’s former socialist leader and wannabe dictator Evo Morales posted a video on social media showing him and former socialist president Alberto Fernández speaking with Sheinbaum and congratulating her on her electoral victory.  ,
Un lindo encuentro con la flamante presidenta electa de México, @Claudiashein. Como siempre, ella muy humilde y con mucho compromiso.

Morales, in the social media post, thanked outgoing President López Obrador for being the “moral reserve of humanity”. When Morales attempted to usurp power in a fictitious election in Bolivia in 2019, Lopez Obrador had provided him with a safe haven.
Fernandez, a former president of Argentina, also posted a video of the incident on social media.  ,
” I have had the privilege of being able to embrace the new president of this beloved country, our dear Claudia Sheinbaum”, Fernández’s message read. ” I had the honor of seeing her and her team get the first results,” she said.
” A progressive woman will continue in Mexico the enormous task started by my dear , López Obrador”, the message continued. ” Latin America celebrates. Congratulations, dear Claudia”.
