According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, four migrants died last trip from heat stroke and thirst after crossing the border illegally in the El Paso Sector.
According to U.S. CBP, agencies responded to a number of emergencies next weekend involving people who had significant heat-related illnesses.
There were four fatalities next weekend as a result of heat strokes and thirst, which highlights the deadly risks associated with improper border crossings in extreme conditions, according to CBP.
According to CBP, the El Paso Sector is experiencing an increase in temperature and evaporation fatalities and injuries in migrant crossing the border illegally because the temperature has recently risen above 100 degrees.
Through increased patrols and the deployment of specialized Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue Teams ( BORSTAR ), the El Paso Sector Border Patrol is now working harder to stop these tragedies. These BORSTAR teams are equipped with sophisticated technology, including drones and warmth- sensing devices, to discover and help disturbed individuals more rapidly”, CBP said.
In the El Paso Sector, according to CBP, over 656 charitable rescue took place in the fiscal year 2024.
CBP also advises the public to call 911 if they see any frightened folks.
New Mexico is also included in the El Paso Sector.
