Border Patrol counted 37, 370 persons who had entered the San Diego Sector without authorization and sought asylum in April.
The US is broken up into 20 geographic segments by the Border Patrol, with nine of them bordering Mexico. After San Diego, the second highest number of immigrant crossers in April came from the Tuscan Sector in Arizona, which reported 31, 240 workers. In the El Paso Sector in Texas, 30, 410 workers were reported.
By the end of governmental 2023, which ended Sept. 30, almost 230, 000 people seeking shelter crossed illegally into the U. S. at the San Diego Sector. In the first seven weeks of governmental 2024, Border Patrol agents counted 220, 000 people. Since the late 1990s, the industry is projected to had attained its highest monthly immigration rate.  ,
A San Diego County centre that specialized in accommodating persons who had crossed the border shut down in February as a result of the compound forces of the growing number of immigrants. The center was having a$ 6 million budget, but now faith-based organizations that have been given a$ 150 million grant from the state will have to take the slack.

Many of the temples and non-profits that are currently in charge of assisting the new visitors are having trouble keeping up with the flow. As a result, some workers are taken by Border Patrol to a train gateway or the airport and then camp overnight while waiting for a trip to their ultimate destination.
Local and state law enforcement officials have the power to deport and arrest people who cross the border improperly, according to legislation that Texas has worked to go.
