A mature police official told CNN that the New York City Police Department is considering revoked former president Donald Trump‘s weapons registration.
Following his indictment on legal costs in New York on April 1, 2023, the official said Trump’s concealed carry permit was slowly suspended.
Two of the three guns he was licensed to have were turned over to the NYPD on March 31, 2023, and , a second firearm listed on Trump’s registration “was freely moved to Florida”, the man added.
After Trump was convicted of 34 crimes on May 30, 2024,  , he could be in contravention of many state and federal laws , if he still possesses that second gun in Florida. CNN has reached out to Trump’s representatives to find out if he still has a weapon in Florida.
A convicted felon’s ownership of a firearm is a federal offense.
The , NYPD’s Legal Bureau will finish its analysis” that may probably lead to withdrawal of his license”, the top police official said. Trump may get a reading challenging the withdrawal.
Trump has had a passport from the , NYPD , to carry a concealed firearm for more than a decade, according to multiple law enforcement sources, but because Trump’s program came with a demand for security, they are free from public documents demands, according to the , NYPD’s instructions and New York state laws.
He maintained his permit the entire time of his administration and thereafter, as suggested by the suspension and pending renewal of his have permit, until he was accused of a number of felonies for falsifying company records in March 2023.
As a previous leader, Trump has complete- time US Secret Service protection.
