During their gathering on the eve of the D-Day 80th anniversary celebrations, President Joe Biden thanked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a months-long pause in funding for his war with Russia.

” We’re not going to walk away from you”, Biden told Zelensky on Friday in Paris, blaming resistance from congressional Republicans for the aid’s uncertainty. ” I’m sorry for the week where I’ve been unsure of what will pass in terms of money because we had trouble passing the bill that had the cash in it.” Some of our moderate users were resolute. But we got it done eventually”.

Before the start of the diplomatic appointment with Zelensky, Biden also announced to reporters that the United States may be providing additional$ 225 million in aid to Ukraine, including more weapons to improve its surroundings security features.

” The method you’ve stood in holding on to Kharkiv, you’ve proven once again that the people of Ukraine cannot and will never be overtaken”, he said. I can tell you that America will support you. I’ve said that all during this discussion. I keep saying that. The US is supporting you. You serve as the defense against the anger that is occurring. We must accompany them wherever possible.

One year prior to Zelensky’s peace conference scheduled for June 15 in Switzerland, the meeting will take place. Biden’s decision to decline to participate was criticized by the Russian president. However, Zelensky thanked Trump for inviting Vice President Kamala Harris to the conference on Friday.

” Our meet here is very symbolic”, Zelensky said. It’s extremely important that you continue to support us, this republican help for the Congress. We rely on you to continue to stand with us shoulder to shoulder in this cohesion, the United States of America, and all the Americans who fought alongside Ukraine like it did during World War II. Thank you thus much”.
