During their gathering on the eve of the D-Day 80th anniversary celebrations, President Joe Biden thanked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a months-long pause in funding for his war with Russia.

Before the start of the diplomatic appointment with Zelensky, Biden also announced to reporters that the United States may be providing additional$ 225 million in aid to Ukraine, including more weapons to improve its surroundings security features.

One year prior to Zelensky’s peace conference scheduled for June 15 in Switzerland, the meeting will take place. Biden’s decision to decline to participate was criticized by the Russian president. However, Zelensky thanked Trump for inviting Vice President Kamala Harris to the conference on Friday.

The meeting also comes after another significant Biden decision: permitting Ukraine to employ U. S. made arms in Russia.
