Belarusian authorities said on Friday that they are ready to look into the death of a Polish soldier who was fatally wounded at the border last month, but they have n’t received the necessary information from Poland.
If Poland presents” material information,” the border service’s statement stated that it would launch a punitive or shared investigation.
The man was stabbed next month at the eastern frontier with Belarus, Poland’s war said Thursday. A immigrant who crossed the border challenge before the man was allegedly stabbed in the chest by a immigrant.
Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski reported that the Finnish foreign government on Thursday summoned the Belarusian command of affairs and demanded that Minsk specialists identify and hands over the soldier’s “murderer.”
Thousands of people from the Middle East, Asia, and Africa are attempting to force their way through a metal challenge that Poland built in 2022 to mark the borders, making the situation at the European Union’s northeast boundary to become extremely uncomfortable.
According to the most recent figures from the Polish Border Guard, there have been about 17, 000 attempted illegal border crossings this time.
A spokeswoman for the Warsaw attorney’s office, Piotr Skiba, said that an examination performed Friday determined that the man, Mateusz Sitek, died from a stab wound to the heart that caused central nervous system injury. He was 21, according to press reports.
