NEW DELHI: The pope has been reported to have once more used a very offensive language toward queer people, for which he had formerly apologised last month, according to ANSA media firm on Tuesday.
During a closed-door meeting with Roman bishops on May 20, the pope was criticized for using the rude Italian term approximately translating as “faggotness.”
ANSA reported that Pope Francis said the phrase” there is an atmosphere of faggotness in the Vatican” again on Tuesday during a conference with Roman priests and that he had suggested that young men with queer tendencies should not be allowed to attend convent.
In response to the most recent report, the Vatican’s push office referenced a declaration from the pope that stressed the value of welcoming gay people into the Church while urging caution when granting them admission to colleges.
Unknown bishops from the room were quoted in Corriere della Sera newspaper after the first report that the pope may have been unaware of the offensiveness of the Italian term being used.
Francis ‘ new mistakes have sparked concern among Vatican spectators about his authority, beliefs, and the reform path envisioned for the Church despite recently being credited with making significant efforts towards the LGBT community during his 11-year church.
