EL PASO, Texas ( Frontier Report )— A lady in her 20s drowned in the Rio Grande on Wednesday, the Sunland Park Fire Department said.
Fire officials say U. S. Border Patrol agents pulled the girl from the valley about 6: 30 a. m. in West El Paso. Crews performed CPR, but the girl did not survive.
On Doniphan Drive, it occurred close to the renowned strength train.
No additional details about the person have been made public.
In recent months, many people have died in the El Paso Sector, which includes all of New Mexico, including those who died from drowning in the river or from being exposed to extreme heat. Many of the victims, according to authorities, were illegal immigrants who entered the country improperly.
Off of the Pete Domenici Highway and New Mexico Highway 9, Sunland Park crew discovered a figure in the desert on Monday.
Border Patrol officers told Border Report that as of Wednesday, the company’s El Paso Sector had recorded 671 rescue and 75 incidents this fiscal year, which started on Oct. 1. Before investigations are finished, a Border Patrol official added that some of the most current events may not be included in the death toll list.  ,
Border Report is also contacting the Sunland Park Fire Department in regards to Monday’s swimming, and it is awaiting a reply.
