MIAMI — Gov. After a deadly flash flood that flooded the area on Wednesday evening, Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in Miami-Dade, Broward, and several other Florida districts.

DeSantis signed an executive order that focused on five regions: Miami- Dade, Broward, Collier, Lee, and Sarasota. The purchase makes it easier to maneuver quickly and freely for disaster preparation and resources.

“… I declare that a big state of emergency exists in Broward, Collier, Lee, Miami- Dade, and Sarasota regions. “, DeSantis said.

According to the purchase, regions of South Florida received 10 to 15 feet of precipitation — affecting big freeways, roadways, terminals, and schools. Over the coming days, we anticipate more heavy rain and storms.

On Wednesday night, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava declared a nearby state of emergency to better allocate resources to restoration efforts after rains explosives slammed the region.

Prior to the incident, Cava reported that state employees were positively reducing the damage brought on by flash flooding.

” I merely declared a nearby state of emergency, powerful immediately, in response to the severe climate in South Florida”, she said in an X article. ” As our agencies work to keep people and business safer, this is a necessary step to protect the health, security, and happiness of our whole community”.
