Ben Potter, ideal known on YouTube as” Comicstorian”, has died. The 40- yr- aged content publisher, who explained superhero stories on his many channels, had more than 3 million subscribers.
” Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unlucky crash”, his family, Nathalie, posted on , X.
” To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across many different methods. He was one of the best and most encouraging people people may ask for, to his loved ones. As a spouse, a child, a sibling, a friend, or even just a person, Ben was loving and true”.
Potter’s love for characters began in childhood, reading the comic books his parents collected, he explained in a , video , posted to his vlogging network. He adored the DC comic” Armageddon 2001,” which was about a scientist named Waverider who discovered which traditional hero had descended into the madness of the past and was now the maniacal tyrant ravaging his life. Potter continued to buy comic books until the” Spider- Guy Clone Saga” he was reading at the time was very complicated for him to observe while still reading various comics.
His interest was reignited during a late- 2000s implementation to Afghanistan. During his free time working in a military hospital, he found the “DC 52” comics, which did n’t require knowing decades of backstories, unlike other comics that branched off of existing storylines.
When she started to express interest in the comic book storylines he loved, she did n’t want to read the books, but she just wanted to understand the plots of the movies. When Potter retired from the military, he and his wife were already running a successful gaming channel. That thought, combined with how hard it had been for him to start reading comic books once, inspired him to make” Comicstorian”.
Nathalie wrote,” Right now, my priority is preserving everything he’s built, and I do n’t have any plans beyond that.” ” His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he would n’t want it to end like this. Ben spread his love and appreciation for his pastimes for more than ten times. He got started on YouTube because of his passion for engaging reports and expertly written characters. I and the staff need to continue that. To recognize him by preserving the memory of our very unique hero while listening to great stories told by great people. We worked together on all we wanted, and I’m not going to stop right away.
The YouTube and humorous book communities poured in unexpectedly for Potter’s untimely passing.
” I’m so sorry to hear that” , , wrote , DC Studios executive and” Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn. ” My soul goes out to his family and friends”.
” Very heartbreaking, Comicstorian was an absolutely amazing YouTuber that pioneered so much and drew but many viewers into reading cartoons. Devastating information. Rest in peace” , , replied , the” Heavy Spoilers” YouTube channel.
” We are thus sorry for your loss”, Funko, the company responsible for collectible bob- mind action figures , commented.
” Oh my God. I’m so sorry, Nathalie” , , wrote , Greg Miller, the chief executive of online entertainment company” Kinda Funny”. ” Ben was a wonderful one”.
