Biden’s foolish plan for post-war Gaza

The Biden administration’s plans for post-war Gaza represent a major change in the relationship between the United States and Israel, and they could put American lives at risk. &nbsp,

The White House is” coalescing around plans for an interim Palestinian Council” to regulate Gaza and a safety partnership in which the U.S. war may play a significant position,” according to a new Politico&nbsp report. If correct, for a program would be fatal for the United States, Israel, and Palestinians. &nbsp,

There is little to show for it that the United States has spent centuries bogged down in Middle Eastern state-building. American public opinion is unlikely to support such an endeavor after Iraq and Afghanistan, and citizens are unlikely to become willing to pay for it. Additionally, Washington is grappling with a wide range of security issues, including a China that aims to rule Asia and the world and a Russia that threatens its relatives in Europe.

However, the challenge posed by Beijing is huge. China is America ‘s&nbsp, sole&nbsp, friend company, with economic and military power that dwarfs that of Russia, Iran, and North Korea. To hinder China from its&nbsp, goal&nbsp, of invading Taiwan and becoming the dominant power in the Pacific, the United States will have to promote. Military officers being sent to Gaza is a disgrace that Washington cannot afford. &nbsp, It would also be doomed to failure.

Israel has been&nbsp, explicit&nbsp, about its goal in the present turmoil: the death of&nbsp, Hamas, the U. S. designated extremist group that launched the conflict by invading the Jewish state and killing and kidnapping its members. However, at various points, the Biden administration has effectively&nbsp, worked&nbsp, to keep the terror group, which itself is a proxy of Iran, China’s general alliance in the region. The White House has &nbsp, pressured&nbsp, Israel never to enter Rafah, Hamas‘s next stronghold, while simultaneously failing to force places like Turkey and Qatar, both of which provide&nbsp, sanctuary&nbsp, and money to the organization.

If Hamas is n’t defeated, the outlook for an interim” Palestinian Council” to govern Gaza is grim. By working to prevent the group’s destruction, the administration is foiling its own plans for Gaza ‘s&nbsp, future. Hassan will undoubtedly target and assassinate any Palestinian who disapproves of its twisted ideology. History says as much.

In the late 1930s, the Palestinian leader Amin al- Husseini and his henchmen&nbsp, murdered&nbsp, British officials and Jews during the so- called” Arab Revolt” in British- ruled Mandate Palestine. But Husseini also murdered more moderate Arab leaders, both there and in&nbsp, neighboring&nbsp, Transjordan. Palestinian leaders who were more receptive to compromise and peace, especially the Nashashibi clan, were eliminated by Husseini’s assassination campaign. As a result, the most&nbsp, extreme&nbsp, Palestinian factions, initially led by Husseini’s distant cousin Yasser Arafat and later by Hamas, have continued to hold sway for decades on. Hamas’s survival might have a similar impact on Gaza.

Giving American military personnel a “major role” in security coordination will expose them to terrorist attacks from Iranian-backed terrorists. Indeed, Tehran’s proxies have been doing just that for years —and often without a response from the Biden administration. It would also mark a significant departure in the U. S. Israel relationship.

Israeli governments of all stripes have long opposed any suggestion that American troops might be in danger, fearing that any fatalities or injuries would undermine support for the Jewish state. Israelis have historically been reluctant to have Americans stationed in the nation and willing to fight on their behalf, in contrast to other allies, such as South Korea or Germany. &nbsp,

Israel only asks for assistance to “finish the job” and put an end to Hamas. That’s a better plan.
