Never did I anticipate that the Women’s National Basketball Association ( WNBA ) would receive enough news coverage to be written about. However, in a time when deranged leftists believe that men may be women and become pregnant, I would venture to say that anything is possible.
The controversy locations on a situation that took place on Sunday between Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky and Caitlin Clark of Indiana Fever. The majority of Americans are probably familiar with Clark because of her impressive efficiency last year at the University of Iowa, which broke many NCAA records and won numerous awards. In her senior year ( 2023- 2024 ), Clark not only recorded the most points in a single season in Division I women’s college basketball history, but she also set the record for women’s and men’s NCAA Division I scoring.
Reese rammed her finger into the Iowa alum’s head on her way up to the box during the third quarter of Sunday’s activity, blatantly fouling Clark while driving to the basket. Clark fell to the ground before her colleagues helped her.
Reese appeared to elbow Clark during another game earlier this month, but the potshot was n’t his first.
A Wave of Hate
Baseball players are going to get actual with one another on the jury, like with any activity. If not for the numerous instances of WNBA players striking out at Clark since she entered the league, Sunday’s incident probably would n’t have drawn much attention.
For instance, Reese’s partner Chennedy Carter “appeared shouting something at Clark and therefore hip-checking the Fever freshman” while the latter waited for her teammate to mail the ball during a Fever-Sky game earlier this month, per Outkick. According to ESPN, Carter’s hit was immediately deemed a foul but eventually received an upgraded flagrant 1 from the WNBA, which is “unnecessary and/or excessive contact by a player against an opponent.”
The on-court successes come in the wake of a string of inflammatory attacks launched against Clark by leftist media, none of which are related to her obvious athletic prowess and are entirely due to the fact that she is light and heterosexual.
But do n’t take my word for it. Joy Reid of MSNBC and Jemele Hill of The Atlantic both admitted during a subsequent “news” portion on Reid’s “news” program that their animosity toward Clark and her fans are a result of their identity politics-based worldview. Hill also separately told the Los Angeles Times last month,” We would all be very naive if we did n’t say]Clark’s ] race and her sexuality played a role in her popularity”.
Jealousy is a Terrible Poison to Chew
You’d think the WNBA, its players, and left-wing media supporters may be glad that Clark’s success has piqued more interest from the league, whose sole considerable news coverage was a player’s arrest in Russia for possession of illegal marijuana. Despite this, the WNBA and its ( very few ) sympathizers believe that Clark is a terrible person who deserves outrageous hits and whose growing success must be disregarded.
How some WNBA athletes or coaches have spoken out against the obscene fouls committed against Clark? Or better yet, how many of Clark’s friends and instructors have spoken up in her defence?
The harsh hits, in conjunction with the media’s unrelenting smears and rejecting of Clark from the 2024 U. S. women’s Olympic team, level to a game and its supporters consumed with bitterness. They ca n’t stand to see Clark, who is straight and white, effortlessly remove their dumpster-fire league from the depths of irrelevancy.
A thorough analysis of WNBA attendance and popularity statistics reveals that new WNBA fans are watching Clark, not your ordinary players. As The Blaze’s Andrew Chapados recently highlighted, the” ]a ] verage attendance of Clark’s games are double the league average”, with the latter’s presence “account]ing ] for 33.5 % of the WNBA’s total attendance in 2024”.
” The Clark knock also equates to more eyes on monitors”, Chapados wrote. WNBA game with Clark on the first weekend of June 2024 attracted an average of 1.099 million people. Games without her averaged just 414, 000 people”.
When considering the category is funded by the people’s National Basketball Association, those figures are n’t bad.
Although the WNBA and its teams are still expected to lose$ 50 million this year, Clark’s presence has transformed a league that was once irrelevant to one that is now somewhat less. Her brother people would rather the group decline than give her a small amount of credit, instead of appreciating the fresh eyes and help she’s given women’s sports.
If that’s not a perfect encapsulation of modern “feminism”, I do n’t know what is.
