Authorities said on Saturday that Los Angeles police fatally shot a person who they claimed threatened family individuals with a knife and refused to hand over the tool.
Officers responded to a telephone about 12: 35 a. m. in Panorama City, authorities said. The unnamed suspect, described simply as being in her 20s, was wielding a razor and menacing family members, authorities said.
When officials arrived at the scene, they instructed the person to lose the blade and retreat, but she did not comply, authorities said. ” During that encounter, an officer- involved shooting occurred ( and ) a taser was also deployed”, LAPD , stated on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The woman was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital, where she died, police said.
A weapon was recovered at the image, LAPD said. No one else was injured in the affair.
The firing remains under investigation.
