Almost 130 locations may go dark for good in a fight with the struggling company owner as a result of a big Pizza Hut owner closing 15 locations without caution.

EYM Group owns and operates 144 Pizza Hut areas in Indiana, Illinois, Georgia, South Carolina, and Wisconsin but owes million in company charges to Yum Brands. The remaining 129 franchises “across Illinois, Georgia, South Carolina, and Wisconsin are on the verge of shutting down as part of the debate,” according to the Daily Mail, which reported on Friday of last week.
One of the stories EYM and Yum Brands will show business experts individuals as a teaching on What Not to Do is how they came to this.
Due to a number of factors, including prices that caused food prices to rise faster than EYM may raise prices on increasingly cost-conscious customers, including the fact that EYM’s headquarters are located in Texas, EYM ended up owing thousands to Yum. But Pizza Hut’s troubles run back much further than Bidenflation.  ,
Yum was patient with EYM, allowing them to give their late franchise fees additional time. However, EYM filed a lawsuit against business in March of last year for breach of contract, essentially for not offering franchisees a comparable product. According to the fit, Pizza Hut has” not kept up with the heavy competition from its companies, Dominos, Little Caesars”.
Another snub was made that” In recent years, the best Pizza Hut managed to do is switch the cheese from cheese to thrilling or run out an odd, bad-lucky snack like the Philly brisket evaporate.”

This quarter, Yum countersued EYM. For its part, Pizza Hut asserted that it is working with the company to change these areas and anticipates that many of them will soon resume, and that it will do the same if and when the other 139 EYM areas nearby.

Pizza Hut has 6,700 locations all over the United States, so it’s not like closing 144 restaurants, and perhaps only periodically, means the string is closing down anytime soon. But Pizza Hut is n’t what it once was, and I could n’t tell you what it is now or wants to be.  ,
Pizza Hut changed from a quick-casual dine-in string to a low-cost shipping company like Little Ceasar’s. Next they began experimenting with strange dual-use take-out and delivery options, including those for Taco Bell and KFC.
The company’s brief but successful trial with Beyond Meat’s false pizza and the menu’s addition of cheeseburgers this year only added to the dilemma.  ,
During the stupid pandemic lockdowns,” Pizza Hut’s largest U. S. franchisee, NPC International, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after struggling under the burden of$ 1 billion in debt”.
Yum forgot what the company was supposed to be, which has long caused the chain to be in trouble.

I spent a lot of time and money at Pizza Hut in the middle of the 1980s because it was the only true pizza restaurant where I attended high school in Mexico, Missouri. And it was nice. My personal favorite was the cast-iron pizza that had just come out of a one-degree drop in the” Molten” category. While I searched for rooms for the table Galaga system, I always ordered it with more pepperoni so I could find out the crispy ones to use as “dessert.”
But the days of new surface, value toppings, and a great dine- in experience have been over for years, and what happens to Pizza Hut future is anyone’s guess— including Pizza Hut’s.  ,
