Putin Comes to Pyongyang While an Emboldened Kim Teases War With the South

Vladimir Putin, the leader of Russia, made a visit to North Korea on Wednesday, bolstering relationships that have grown stronger since the start of the conflict in Ukraine.

Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, has provided Russia with tens of thousands of artillery shells and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Most of the hands are World War II and 1950s antique, which raises concerns about their performance. But Putin is n’t complaining. Obviously, enough of the weapons go” BOOM” to make the purchase worthwhile.

Kim’s mind appears to have been turned on by having a strong colleague like Putin. North Korean soldiers have crossed into South Korea twice this month and once entered the Demilitarized Zone ( DMZ). Additionally, the North has dispatched construction crews into the DMZ to fix watch stations that had been torn down as a result of Kim’s unilateral cancellation of a now-defunct deal on hostile behavior in the DMZ.

Not all the “volunteers” entering the DMZ make it home. There are a few million mines in the area from both sides that the North is n’t extremely cautious about marking for their men. &nbsp,

    New York Times:

The North had pressed on with the job despite “many deaths and injuries” caused by some land me bombs, the South’s government said, without providing additional information.

The South’s government made the announcement about the casualties as it revealed a group of North Korean soldiers had momentarily entered North Korean place on Tuesday, crossing the military boundary line, which serves as the country’s official border within the DMZ. About 20 soldiers carried only little arms on June 9 during the next event this month, according to the military, and some of them carried building tools.

On both occasions, the men retreated after the South fired warning shots, according to the defense, which said it considered the incursions unexpected. The boundary line is not always plainly visible; there are markers at times, but some are missing due to flooding or inadequate maintenance, and the collection is especially difficult to miss in the summertime, according to officials.

Connected: Russia a No- Display at’ European Peace Conference ‘

As Putin travels to North Korea, this is the backdrop. As far as the Russian president is concerned, the more problems that Kim is cause for the United States, the better. The two gentlemen inked a “partnership package” on Wednesday. Some details about the agreement were disclosed to either side, but what’s certain is that Kim will acquire cutting-edge technology for his nuclear missiles and provide Putin with almost unlimited munitions.

    Associated Press:

Kim said the two states had a “fiery friendship”, and that the offer was the” strongest always agreement” between them, putting the connection at the level of an empire. He vowed total support for Russia’s war in Ukraine.

It was a “breakthrough report,” according to Putin, which reflects our shared desire to raise the bar even higher.

In 1961, North Korea and the former Soviet Union ratified a convention that required Moscow’s military action if the North were to launch an attack. Following the USSR’s demise, the agreement was voided in favor of a agreement in 2000 that offered less stringent security guarantees. It was n’t immediately clear whether the new agreement offers the same level of protection as the 1961 treaty.

Kim definitely seems to be spoiling a duel, in my opinion. Kim will become one of the most dangerous leaders in the world if he believes that Moscow may support him in any combat that the North will wage. &nbsp,
