The Texas Politics Project conducted this poll from May 31 to June 9, 2024 on 1200 registered voters, the margin of error is + /- 2.83 % ( 3.16 % adjusted for weighting )

The Texas Politics Project at the University of Texas released new polling on Thursday that examines Texasans ‘ positions on border security, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas ( ERCOT ), and other issues.

    2024 votes

In Texas, the ballot shows Donald Trump has a result over Joe Biden. When polled head to head, Trump stands at 46 % and Biden at 39 %.

The poll even asked who citizens may help in a six- means culture, including candidates Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Jill Stein, Cornel West, and Chase Oliver. In that scenario, 43 % supported Trump, while Biden’s support dropped to 34 %. Kennedy earned 8 % support, with Stein and West each garnering 2 % support.

53 % of those who said they would vote for Biden said they wanted him to be president, and 47 % said they would because they opposed Trump entering the White House. However, 74 % of those who said they would vote for Trump said it was because they wanted him to be president.

The Texas Politics Project’s June poll is the first since Trump’s hush money trial‘s guilty verdict was announced next month. The former president’s favorability rating among Texas voters dropped to 45 %, down from 49 % in the organization’s April poll.

When asked if Trump’s faith would have an effect on their ballot in 2024, Texans had mingled reactions. While 27 % of Texas voters said they were now more likely to vote for Trump, 36 % of those polled said they were. Just under one-third of polled voters believed that the faith would not have an impact on their vote.

Senator Ted Cruz ( R ) and Congressman Colin Allred ( D) are the two front-runners in the 2024 U.S. Senate race, but Cruz leads by 11 % in the new polls. According to the poll, 14 % of respondents said they had n’t given the race enough thought to form an opinion.

    Most important problems

18 % of those who responded to the surveys said that problem was the most pressing issue facing the nation, with inflation ranking as the most pressing issue. The best three regional problems were the business and political corruption, respectively.

The most pressing problem facing Texas today is border security, according to voters, followed closely by immigration.

According to poll results, one-third of Texasans think Texas spends very little on border security. In what the state calls the Biden administration’s actions “negligent,” the state currently allocates more than$ 11 billion in taxpayer money to Operation Lone Star, Texas ‘ effort to deploy state guard members and law enforcement to the border.

    Electric generator

Voters at the Texas Politics Project were asked how good they were to anticipate some fictitious scenarios involving the Texas electricity generator that might occur this summer. A third of Texasans anticipate rolling or momentary power outages, and half of Texans think it’s likely that they will be asked to save electricity at some point this summer.

From August 2023 to September 2023, Texans were asked on many accounts to conserve energy according to “tight network conditions”.

    Poll approach

Between May 31 and June 9, a provincial study for the Texas Politics Project was conducted. The ballot interviewed 1, 200 registered voters in Texas. The margin of error of the ballot is + /- 2.83 %.
