Pepper game weapons used by Texas soldiers deployed to the Mexican border have started to deter people from entering the country illegally.
Texas State troop members serving on the country’s southern border as a part of the governor’s plan. Greg Abbott’s (R-TX ) border security initiative has recently shot pepper balls from paintball-like devices when migrants attempted to climb over barriers.
The move has sparked outrage among some american rights organizations, who claim the status is blocking migrants who seek asylum in the United States. Despite the fact that the state is making an effort to stop people from crossing fencing, the state has increased.
During a hearing before the Texas Senate on June 11, Maj. Gen. Thomas M. Suelzer revealed that the organization was working on training soldiers how to use pepper game guns.
Soldiers were given the option of “hitting an inert object” to break the pepper ball rather than attack people.

Progress Texas, an organization that opposes incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz ( R- TX ) in the November Senate election, issued a statement in an attempt to shame Abbott.
” Operation Lone Star forces have started firing mace-laced” peppers balls” at border crossing people. The violence, as often, is the place”, Progress Texas posted on X.
Andrew Mahaleris, a spokeswoman for Abbott, did not comment on the use of chilli game guns, but said the state is “using every application and approach to respond to this ongoing border crisis.”
According to Mahaleris,” Texas is doing everything we can to prevent the cartels from smuggling people and drugs across the border,” the president continues to exploit the government’s large empty borders.  ,” Under our historic border mission, Texas has allocated more than$ 11 billion of Texas taxpayer money to secure the border, deploying thousands of Texas National Guard soldiers and DPS troopers, setting up a military base on the border, installing strategic barriers, and building our own border wall. One immigrant right team based in El Paso, Border Network for Human Rights, said in a statement that it was “really concerned” the country’s Operation Lone Star border security action was “escalating” based on the pepper game weapons development.
The Texas Military Department did not respond to comments made.
