According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the government’s second-largest town in Kharkiv on Saturday, a Russian-guided bombing attack on an apartment building in the country’s second-largest city resulted in three fatalities and 52 injuries. He has urged the government to urgently demand more assistance to combat the growing threat of such weapons.
Images shared online reflected considerable damage to a five- floor apartment building, with shattered panels, damaged terraces, and debris scattered around a volcano at the page.
Lawyers in Ukraine’s northeast Kharkiv region confirmed the deaths, specifying that the middle- day attack left three dead and 52 injured, including three kids. Oleh Syniehubov, the Regional Governor, noted that four people are in critical issue.
Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram that” this Soviet evil must be stopped and can be stopped.” To stop Russian terrorists and Soviet military aircraft where they are,” We need strong judgments from our lovers.”
Zelenskyy claimed in his later nightly video that the Russian forces targeted Russian targets with more than 2,400 guided bombs in June, with 700 aimed at Kharkiv. He emphasized that a similar plan is then necessary given that the delay in US support in April had reduced the damage and consistency of missile problems.
Zelenskyy argued that the major decline in Russian missile attacks on Kharkiv and the surrounding area shows that it is possible to protect our cities and communities from Soviet bombs.
According to him, Ukraine needs the military aid deals “without lag” to implement the agreements we reached with US President Biden.
This month, Ukraine and the US signed a 10-year bilateral security deal to strengthen its defence against Russia and bring it closer to NATO membership. On the other hand, Russia has increasingly relied on comparatively cheap guided weapons to reduce the risk for its causes.
Russia entered Ukraine in February 2022, and it has since made steady improvements in the Donetsk area. It has taken control of Avdiivka, a significant commercial town, over the course of three months. Next month, Russia even initiated a cross- border invasion northeast of Kharkiv, though Zelenskyy reported the scenario has stabilized.
Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, claimed that the town experienced four bombings following the most recent attack. The damaged building, which also had a store on the ground floor, is stillundergoing rescue operations, according to provincial governor Syniehubov.
Serhiy Bolvinov, the police chief in Kharkiv, informed Suspilne, a news outlet in the city, that no one was trapped beneath the wreckage after three floors of the building collapsed.
Kharkiv, situated about 30 km from the Belarusian border, has been a regular target throughout the roughly 28 weeks of battle. Despite Moscow’s claims that it was intentionally attacking civilians, the conflict has left countless casualties and wounds.
