Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday to honor Naama Levy, who has been held hostage in Gaza by the violent Hamas-linked party, for the 20th anniversary. The demonstrators demanded the launch of all hostages who had been killed by Hamas following their fatal attack on Israel by releasing balloons and chanting regularly to the sounds of drums. They also exchanged little cupcakes decorated with birthday candles.
Yoni Levy, Naama’s 52- year- ancient parents, wearing a sweater featuring his mother’s picture, said,” She needs to be here with her family, with her friends”.
Amit, Naama’s older sibling, shared memories of his sister with Reuters on Thursday, referring to a magazine photograph of her smiling face with the comment:” Take Her Home”. He said,” I really ca n’t wait to see this smile when she comes back soon”.
Writing a letter to her child in the New York Post, Naama’s mom expressed her grief, writing,” This is a text no family should ever have to read to her child. Now is your 20th day. You ought to be gathering family and friends to celebrate this event. Otherwise, you are enduring your 260th time as a prisoner in Gaza surrounded by jihadists”.
She continued,” The uncertainty and dread I experience is suffocating, and each passing day that you are not with us feels like an eternity. We wo n’t give up fighting until you’re home.
On October 7, Hamas militants recorded a picture of Naama wearing broken pyjamas, her arms tied behind her back, and clearly hurt. The picture quickly became popular online.
Naama and four additional sexual army conscripts were among the four people who were taken during the attack that sparked Israel’s battle on Gaza when they were apprehended.
Around 1,200 people died in the attack, and Hamas took more than 250 victims as a result. Israel’s comment in Gaza has so far claimed the lives of over 37, 400 folks, including 101 in the last 24 hours, according to Palestinian health officials.
